We are a team of tutors who are passionate about passing on our love for the English subject. We come from diverse academic fields, but we all share a passion for teaching!

I started tutoring in 2004, as high school graduates often do, and I haven’t stopped since! I am a qualified secondary English teacher, and was about to embark on a PhD in English literature when I realised that tutoring was what I’m really passionate about. Over my career, I have worked with a huge variety of students from a spectrum of needs, and it is my dream to transform the industry so that we can collectively look after our most vulnerable students better.

What I love about tutoring is moving beyond conventional student-teacher dynamics into a more holistic, mentorship based relationship. This I feel, is what can really inspire a student to start learning for life. As a student of life myself, I am passionate about music and spirituality; both of which I love exploring with an open heart!

One of the things I enjoy most about tutoring is helping students gain an understanding of difficult content and working with them to achieve their goals, whether they have a passion for English or not. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and writing fiction, playing guitar and bass, and spending time with my friends.

My favourite thing about tutoring is standing by students as they grow in confidence in their own skills, and develop trust in their own capabilities. My passion has always been creative writing, and you can always find me curled up with a book or drafting copious drafts for unwritten stories.
My son said he had a really good session yesterday. Thank you for stretching him!

English has always been my passion, particularly creative writing. I enjoy working with students to brainstorm ideas deeper than plot and characters, and to decode what a text is communicating about human nature and society. I believe that strong English skills are not only valuable tools in the classroom but vital for surviving and excelling in this changing world.

My favourite thing about tutoring is finding the right approach for each student to help them discover the joy of understanding language and learning to use it effectively to achieve different things. When I’m not studying Linguistics, you can sometimes find me daydreaming in bookstores or totally immersed in fictional worlds.
I can’t believe what (my daughter) got on her English subject at her new school this current term! (I) hope she keeps study(ing) English with (the tutor) to maintain her achievement. Thank you!

I like to build confidence in my students by providing a supportive and non-judgemental environment for them to freely explore their ideas. I am passionate about life-long learning and hope my students are interested to learn after their school years. Outside of tutoring, I am studying a Master of Teaching (Secondary) with ACU, and I am dedicated to my pre-service training and committed to being a great secondary teacher!
Your match for (my daughter) has been spot on. She thinks (the tutor) is lovely and sweet, and is really enjoying the sessions. Thanks for your support behind the scenes. Such a relief to see (her) happy and in such capable hands!

I’ve always defined English by its ability to facilitate individualism and creativity, and I like to adopt this same mindset with tutoring – viewing learning as a core tool in helping students unlock their own voices and unique perspectives on the world. In my spare time, you will
find me crocheting while rewatching Gilmore Girls for the hundredth time.
He came home last week and teased me saying that he “got something with a ‘+’ on it” so I thought maybe he scraped a C+, but in fact he got B+! He was so proud of himself and I was so proud of him!

As someone who was tutored throughout high school, I’ve experienced first-hand what makes a great tutor standout. To me, seeing a student progress with their learning and academic skills is the most rewarding aspect of being a tutor. I love writing in my spare time; film and TV is a real passion of mine – hence my love for teaching others English!

I’ve always loved English in school; the joy and connection we gain through language is everlasting and builds foundations for life. I enjoy tutoring because it allows me to connect with students, engage in a constant exchange of ideas, and witness their confidence grow. In my free time, I create art and spend time with my lovely cat, Tigson.
You have helped her build her skills and her confidence in her ability, and you’ve done this with great care, passion and commitment. We are very grateful.
